HARS Aviation Museum runs a series called Tarmac Days at its Shellharbour Airport base in Albion Park. They park a selection of the more interesting aircraft out on the apron for a quiet show and tell. Most of what you'll see is static display, with the occasional engine run and, on good days, a bit of flying activity to punctuate the parked planes.

Members of the public are welcome to clamber aboard and sit in some of the aircraft, which is handy if you've ever wanted to know where all the mysterious levers are. Each exhibit is staffed by guides who will point out the quirks, answer questions and gently stop anyone from trying the ignition.
